Shepard, former editor-in-chief of BusinessWeek and founding dean of the Graduate School of Journalism at City University of New York, in  recognition of his extraordinary contributions to the field of business and international journalism.  SAJA president Deepti Hajela, of the Associated Press, presented the award.
